Replaced mine shocks but got them from the marine supply place listed in the FAQ. Cost 43.00 including shipping. Used the original sockets. Took 10-15 minutes to install, including the removal of the sockets that came on the new shocks.

Check out the FAQs. Reid Supply, McMaster Carr, and others have pretty much direct replacements for about $45. Numerous folks, including myself, have replaced their supports with aftermarket lifts.

I bought from Reid Supply. The only issue I encountered was the lifts were just slightly longer. This results in the hatch stopping once it contacts the rain gutter. However, it is only the rubber of the window making contact, so it wasn't that big of a deal.

$15 a piece from the site listed in the FAQ (you have to remove the existing ball from yours and reuse it.) simple, cheap, they work much better than any other kind of "oem" replacement for $50 from people like CCOT

I just replaced mine yesterday and it took all of 10 minutes. I went through Reid supply, ordering and shipping were painless.

Unsupported Browser: Reid Supply Company

I got the following:
2 - Part# GAS-124 - 90# lift gas cylinder
4 - Part# GAS-202 - metal end fitting
Total cost with shipping for me was $44.00

If you were to do the install yourself: Prop the rear hatch completely open with something long and sturdy. Remove the end fittings from their attachment points on the body using a 12mm open end wrench. They'll be a little hard getting out since they were thread locked upon their original installation. Attach the new end fittings to the new gas cylinders and attach the cylinder base end fitting onto the hatch using a 13 mm open wrench. Now prop up the hatch high enough to where the rod metal end fitting matches the bolt hole on the body and install with a 13 mm wrench. Use thread locker to keep them in place. There you go all done and the hatch opens completely and stays there!
