Has anyone ever rebuilt their rack & pinion? installed a seal kit?

A seal kit for a 100series is $25 new mounting bushings $40 new boots $20... I've rebuilt racks in the past... rebuild all my equipment hydraulics (pumps and cylinders ) unless there is some wear / damage to a hard part... I don't see the big deal... just wondering if anyone has done this? what do you usually see wrong when you replace a rack?

I'm not aware of anyone that's rebuilt one, but I'm aware of the kit. The most common failure is the output shaft seals. If you have the skill and tools, I'd say go for it.
