Hey everyone,
My 60 has developed some starting issues. If I drive the truck everyday, let it sit overnight and start it, it fires right up, you just tough the key and it is running. However when the truck is hot, then you shut it off and let it sit about a half hour or so then go to restart it, it seems like it cranks forever. It can't be good for my starter to crank that long!. Why would that be the case? Could it be that my timing is way out of whack, which it might be? I know that I need to get my dist redone by Jim C, but that will be in about 2 weeks. So any ideas?

Thanks,
Zack

Does your carb fan work? If not it could be vapor lock.

The carb fan works great! And it's also not that hot out yet, I mean it was in the 20's most of the week. But the carb fan usually kicks on even if it's cold outside.

stupid question, so take no offense- the owner's manual says to pull the choke and pump 3-4 times when the rig has been running (I think 5 times for cold start?)-try that? regardless sometimes mine does that too, the engine still gets hot even though it is cold outside...I usually pump mine a few times and no problemo, iff you flood it, wait a few minutes, then start it with your foot ot the floor- just let go when it starts. hope that helps.
