do any of you have a diagram or photo of how the hand throttle cable hooks up to the carburetor or throttle linkage?

The PO had disconnected mine, and I just want to be sure i reconnect it properly.

Thanks!

Destin

When I get my 40 (within a couple of weeks) I can show you.

Do you mean the cable going from the dash to the carb?

Not sure where it is supposed to connect :)

I have a choke that connects to the carb, but i also have a throttle knob and cable, but right now it is disconnected...

I do see another linkage/spring below the intake exhaust manifold that is parallel to the throttle linkage/spring, which might be it, but i want to see one correctly configured before i start mucking about. :D

Here's a couple of pictures of the hand throttle on a 1960 FJ25. Plus here's the fuel pump with the hand primer

Very nice!

Thank you so much, I now know exactly where to connect the hand throttle.

I love the pump with the hand primer.
Would love to get my hands on one someday :)
If you happen upon one, please let me know.

Thanks again for your help, I appreciate it.

I have a few of the pumps but more early cruisers than pumps. I did buy one off Ebay years ago that had the glass fuel filter, bracket and hose attached. I had to pay $7 plus a couple bucks shipping to get it. I was the only one who Bid.

Well if you ever feel like parting with one of the pumps with hand primers let me know :)

How many cruisers do you have?

:D

How many cruisers do you have?

Five FJ25s
Six FJ40s
One FJ45LPB
One FJ62
One UZJ100

Plus a few parts:rolleyes:

The better half drives a V8 4WD 4Runner.

All are stock six cylinder except for the 100 series.

Not all them are together and not all at the same place. The plan is to have a few sold by this time next year and the rest store in garages. I have all the parts store inside. Now for the cruiser themselfs:cheers:

wow!

Nice man :)

I imagine the space to store them is a tough business.
I barely have space for my 40 :)

that spring isn't stock ;)

There's probably more than that not stock. The bottom attachment point seems wrong too. The 62 repair manual doesn't show any of the linkage at all. I replaced the PO's non-stock carb for a OEM one. Even that may be a FJ40 not a FJ25. I'll have to check my grey 25 that's out of town. It's the only early Land Cruiser I've bought that still had the stock carb on it when I bought it. I'm lucky that at least most of them had the stock engine that matched the VIN plate.

Checked out the loose carbs I have for springs. The only early one barrel carburator I have with a spring is hooked up the same way. The other ones are missing the springs. The later one barrel has a couple of mounting holes on the carb for the spring. Last picture is of my 68. Missing the throttle cable. Never got it hooked up after going back to stock one barrel after going stock of more than twenty-five years of after market carbs. Had a carter on it when I bought it.
