Did some more slick rock this morning. A hard tail mountain bike is brutal on slick rock!!!
Off to Durango, Silverton, million dollar highway, black canyon, then start working my way back in time for hoedown!
Hey gin, when u get to Durango there is bridge north of town that is surrounded by 10' to 50' rocks that peeps jump off into the river. Some jump off the bridge and doing crazy swing stuff from the girders under the bridge. pretty entertaining stuff. When we were there, there was lots of peeps. We stayed at a campground just down river a few hundred feet. This is the same river and close by where they filmed the scene in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid where they jumped off a cliff into a river. I forget the name of the bridge but ask around and Shirley someone will know.
I did the Whole Enchilada a few years back with a GF full suspension 29...rode again this year with a 9er hardtail and you are right...full suspension is a near must out there

From the outlaw in ouray with a crown Manhattan, i love this town! And million dollar highway was amazing from Silverton! My 4runner turned 250k on it. Even over loaded with crap, a bike rack, and a buzzed wife, i was hauling ass!! Cars were pulling over before i got to them, i know I'm an a******. But it's too fun to grab 2nd and hit the inside gravel on those switch backs.
Ive read about people doing that drive in full size motorhomes and how they pissed themselves in fear.
I did that ride on the Valkyrie in the dark in the rain from Ouray to Sliverton in the dark in the rain after I couldn't find a hotel in Ouray. Durango to Ouray was in the rain too, but at least in the light.

Damn right! See what i mean about moab, looks gay in pictures, but badass in person.... Kind of like myself.
Looks like a damn nice trip. Is it too soon to start a thread planning your return trip? Just to get all the degenerates plans in the open.
