GX550 Hood strut length. (1 Viewer)

I purchased all the parts that attached the 550 hood struts to my 250. But I need the dimensions of them because I'm not paying $250. When someone with a GX has some time can you please measure the barrel length and the total length with the hood up?

This is with the end of the tape measure hooked on the outside edge of the strut attachment at the top.

Cylinder tube ~12.5 inches
Overall ~21.5 inches

Can you share the parts listing and pictures when you have completed the installation? I've been thinking about this upgrade for my 1958.

Parts list is in the Parts thread sticky but I will be posting pictures once finished. I think spending this much on a vehicle should come standard.
