My wife's GX470 had the VSC light and the skid light pop on yesterday. Then they started flashing. The truck drove like the transfer case was locked in low. Took it to the mechanic down the street and his computer couldn't pull the code.

A while later today the mechanic drove it around the block and the low gear disengaged. The warning lights are all on still but not flashing. It drives normal now but seems like an impending mess.

Now, when you start the car the warning lights are off. You can put it in gear and the warning lights are still off. The second the wheels start rolling all the warning lights pop back on again.

Anyone ever heard of anything like this happening? It's never been in 4 wheel low before...ever. Its a mall cruiser.

Sounds like someone turned on the center diff lock by accident perhaps? Assuming it's an LX470?

Jump in, check the button by your knee.

definitely not that. checked it first. the warning lights keep lighting up (4 of them now). Perhaps there is a faulty diff switch that is somehow shorting out and engaging the diff?

Told the wife to take it to Lexus tomorrow before it becomes an expensive mess.

I had something similar that degenerated in a couple days to full out interference from TRAC/SKID/VSC/ABS such that the engine slowed down and the brakes were pumping off - almost undriveable. Took it to a dealer and it was a bad yaw sensor. You need someone with the dealer diagnostics to check it out.
