I did this install over two Weekends. A few take away for the next guy or gal doing this.
1 If you have KDSS definitely put it in bypass mode, makes the job much easier
2 Watch the video Dan Kunz posted on GXOR on front strut replacement. It made things much easier for me. I am
Sure there are others.
3 Don’t get in a hurry reinstalling the KDSS sway bar in the front. This will prevent buggering up the threads in the
Lower control arm. Which leads to the next item
4 No one in Augusta,Ga stocks M12x1.25 helicoils or time certs. A friend at a shop hooked me up. The situation maybe
Different where you live.
5 I used a big pipe wrench to hold the rear shock body while turning the top but with a wrench. I could not find my 17mm ratcheting wrench.
6 Putting the jack stands under the frame instead of the rear axle saves time. I tried to use the jack to push the shock up to rear mount with comical results. With the stands under the frame use the jack to raise the axle to the correct height. Much easier and faster.
7 I used a Dremel tool with a metal burr bit to enlarge the hole for the rear upper shock mount. It took about 10 minutes Per side. The step drill bits from Harbor Freight are not big enough for the job. I did not want to buy a $30.00
1 inch bit or the $40.00 step bit that would work.
8 Before getting started make sure you have all the little parts for the job. I threw away some nuts because I was in a hurry to clean up after assembling the struts. It will save you time effort and frustration.

I am pleased with the Suspension. I did not take before and after measurements. It rides firm, not harsh on the road. My 2005 154k rear shocks could be collapsed with very little effort. Hope this helps others out. The info posted by the original poster and others were a huge help to me. Thanks guys.

I just scored some take off front struts of a 2018 TRD Pro 4 Runner for my GX. Is the bolt size the same on the lower control arm in the front. I am going to pair them with OME 2895. It looks like a pretty straight forward instal but I am just trying to set myself up for an easy instal.
