I am interested in doing this but was worried about increased rock chip damage to the rear bumper area. Thoughts/experience?Wow, the knife you used looks a lot easier than the generic utility knife I used!

Yeah that is a fair argument, I already noticed a little spray going up on the rear bumper. It is a 13 year old truck so a few extra rock chips on the rear bumper isn't going to hurt anything. Maybe just an excuse when there is enough chips to justify swing out rear bumper!I don't really pay attention because I have so many scratches from trail damage. In the winter, the salt stains definitely spray up on the rear bumper. I can say that for sure. What I don't know is if it's directly a result of trimming the flaps or because my tires sit slightly outside the flares due to the increase in offset and wider 275 tires. Maybe a bit of both?
Funny enough, I was just checking out your GX on Overland Bound (almost accidentally replied on OB haha). Looks great! Since you're running -12 offset and your tires are already outside the flaps, trimming them probably won't make too much of a difference.
Thanks for the pics. It looks like it could've come that way stock, which I like...definitely doing this next weekend!Wow, the knife you used looks a lot easier than the generic utility knife I used!
