Very happy to live in a "grey state" with low taxes, low cost of living, decent wages, cheap gas, and tons of public land for outdoor activities (including wheeling). But please keep out - we also have lots of poison ivy, humidity, tornadoes, hillbillies, and rednecks
. I left here for a few years - to Texas - and came back as soon as I could. Too flat, hot, and too much private land.
It's honestly sad what's happened to the West. There seem to be very few "normal" mountain towns that haven't been totally taken over by out-of-state folks and priced out almost everyone. It's all becoming a giant playground for the rich.
