Anyone have a lead on a passenger side front window? I got a rock strike while driving from a yard crew, they’ve been on National back order for 2 months with no end in sight…

I’m also waiting for aftermarket support on the windshield. I’ve already replaced one with factory glass only to get a rock chip days later that is too big to fill. 🤦🏻

Unfortunately, no help. I'm in the same boat. Waiting on a windshield...

I was wondering if there's something like PPF for windshields and found this. Anyone tried it? Seems like with the current wait for windshields this might be worth a try.

They have DIY kits also, but only for jeep and bronco.
It can’t hurt and I have ceramic tint on my windshield but it comes from the inside. Honestly it’s likely the only reason my passenger glass didn’t shatter as it’s supposed vs windshield. I’m looking at full PpF now for other reasons also.

The Land Cruiser glass is available. It is a different part number than the GX.
There are also two different glasses for the GX, maybe the other one is available?
LC 68101-60850
GX 68101-60870 (High Grade) or 68101-60A00

If it's anything like the 200-series, the LC will be standard laminate and the GX will be an acoustic glass laminate.

Can confirm, GX has acoustic (laminate) glass in the doors and windshield.

If my window was broken and I couldn’t get GX glass I’d try the LC glass over not using the truck.

Luckily it’s just a crack running the length of passenger window and not shattered so I’m still driving.

Does your GX550 have a label that shows it’s acoustic? Or anyone able to chime in on Toyota glass identifiers?

I’m wondering how you tell since Toyota and Lexus don’t have a part number printed on the glass (unless it’s hidden somewhere I haven’t found). I can see all the w/ or w/o HUD, deicer, acoustic options on parts diagrams with their part numbers. But how do you know what you have installed? I don’t think I’ve seen any spec sheets stating acoustic glass - just anecdotal comments from journalists.

Anyone been down that rabbit hole?

For reference these are from a 24 MY 1958 250. I’m aware that both are likely not acoustic glass. Curious for when the time comes if it’s possible to upgrade to Lexus acoustic, etc.

All GX glass is laminated per Owners manual. On the LC just the windshield is laminate glass per the LC owners manual. Here is the GX. It is part of the safety topics (breakage hammer).

While I don’t know or have access to part numbers given the exact same size shape of all the glass/openings it sure seems like GX glass would work in an LC.

That’s helpful. Thanks!

So all/most acoustic glass is laminated from some quick googling.

From the parts diagrams the 250 vs 550 door window internals look a little different. They might not be interchangeable without replacing the arm mechanism too. Some parts are the same like channel runs.
