Man I read it is 125lbs, or 150 lbs. I have the rails that are away from the roof... holds more, that might be why the difference. Any ideas here would be appreciated. thanks

A 145# smittybilt xl tent. My wife thinks we are going to break it
smittybit xl tent. Seller says 125 approx. Site says 145. So we'd by 5 # over. So don't want to spend 1200 + on a rack and don't want to only see rv parks when we travel. Overlanding or marriage. So it seems today...
I think you'll be fine. GX has 3 post per side. I've built racks and cross bars and jumped all my weight on 2 post side rails.
LFD offroad sells a more rugged cross bar system for like $80 a bar. Or you can reconfigure the tent cross bars to lay across the side rails on the GX.
