I am going to at some point paint my fj40 and would like to fix this gutter situation without dismantling the top. The top is in great shape, but a PO must have decided the gutter was draining too slow and did this to it, he also drilled small holes in various parts of the gutter. Any suggestion on how to fix it without dismantling it? Would it be possible to weld it back together w/o setting the fiberglass top on fire? Thanks.

You could repair that without taking the top apart, but make sure you protect the fiberglass really well. I would tape it up with at least three layers of masking tape at least two feet from the area you're fixing, and then cover with a large welding blanket. Splatter can really traver far.

So if i take my time and stitch weld it, I wouldn't scorch the fiberglas from the heat generated?
