Is anyone getting ready jik? Got spare room?

Since I am about 30 miles from the coast I am getting ready. Not my original Labor Day plans... but then again my original plans were to be working on the troopy that is still sitting in the OZ.

I have a couch in Auburn if necessary. Yeah my parents are concerned about this too being in Gulf Shores and all. Supposedly the storm surge is supposed to be bad down there. Hopefully it won't be too bad, but already at a Cat 4 it doesn't look too well.

I have a 2 spare bedrooms in Montgomery. You are more than welcome to crash at my place. I will be in Memphis tomorrow at the UTBT, but will be back in Montgomery on Monday.

Nah, we are sticking it out. Trying to run with 2 dogs, a wife, mother-in-law, and 22 month old would not be possible... at least until i get the LC...

What's the latest for the Mobile area, rainfall amounts, storm surge, etc? I have some ongoing research on the Tensaw River and am anxious to get back down there.

There was 6-8' for storm surge. The local river near me is 2 feet above flood stage (6') and not expected to recede until Wednesday. radar says about a inch of rain, but i think we got 2-3 easy... maybe more... the rain gauge is no longer in the backyard.

The front of my subdivision is flooded (near the above river) but can bypass it luckily.

Everything seems to be quieting down, but we are still getting reports of tornado every now and then, but only one confirmed sighting. Looks like i will be going to work in the morning.

Looks like I'll be stuck in the office working on reports this week . Maybe I can hit the river next week. We were only spit on by a few of Gustav's outer bands.

I talked to my boss a few hours ago. Our office in mobile will be open tomorrow, but the New Orleans and Baton Rouge offices will be closed, possibly for a week or more. The office manager in BR said they had some serious damage... I'll post images if i get any.
