I about to get my 84" repainted (color changed) I want to see if anyone that has changed it to a shade of grey or silver. (and what car did you get that code from or if it was custom.)

I was on the ccot site and they show a gun metal grey but it seems purplish. They also have FJ62 - warm grey that seems closer. But I need better pics?

And...if anyone has that Warm grey color does it have the metallic sparkle to it? I'm trying to stay away from that at the momemt.

Thanks

Have you considered 'Desert Dune' as used on the 80 series trucks?

there is a good looking Grey 60/62 in the registry, it is pulling a trailer, never nice cruiser and goodl ooking simple color.

That rig looks nice, but I think it looks like it has a purplish hue to it.
The search continues. ..

Like this?

This is the 60/62 grey that you see everywhere, but the metallic fleck has been replaced with the same weight of pure white.

It is basically the exact same thing as what the metal part of the 60 series dash was painted, I like it.

make it easy for yourself:
• find the color you like on an existing vehicle - any make, model, etc....
• most good autobody shops have the paint codes for most makes & models and can easily match
• if you are set on a color that is no longer in production or just have to have that particular shade of "x", then take a good color swatch sample to your body shop and have them do a custom match. Just make sure they give you the recipie so you can mix again in the future for repairs.

BMW has a very cool charcoal grey metallic that is consistently in their product line and the newer Toyota's sport a darker silver than what came on the Cruisers of old.

That was the challenge, most cars nowadays all have metallic to it. I wanted something that was gonna say new car look but something more along the lines of a battleship..

It's funny that you mention BMW because I walked the new car lots yesterday and that was the only one that caught my eye.

Thanks for the input
