My fuse for my guages/marker lights keeps on burning out. It is a 15 A fuse. I am guessing that it is shorting out somewhere, but i dont really want to take the time right now to fix this problem. I was wondering if it would be ok to put a 20 A fuse in instead. Or would this burn my bulbs out????

Thanks in advance!

Most likely the fuse is blowing because there's a short somewhere. Best to find the short. The 20a fuse will likely blow also. Sorry.

Doug is right. Best to bite the bullet, get out the multimeter, and start checking circuits - pint to point through the affected system. Should br an easy fix once you locate it.

If you over fuse it, then the short will cause some damage somewhere, then you'll be fixing more than just a short...

First place I'd look is under the back of the truck for a trailer light convertor. If you see one, cut it out (and install a new one if you need to tow something). I've had 2-3 of these things fail on various trucks. Otherwise your looking for a spot where the insulation has been rubbed through or crushed most likely. Then look and make sure all the bulbs are in the sockets correctly. If you have an aftermarket stereo you might check the wiring for that too. I bought a car where the genius PO had wired the light wire direct to ground.

Good luck!
