what was the out come of this thread a few weeks back, I can't find anything with the "Search" I have had the grrrr for about 2 years now. It only got worse after I installed the Slee castor plates. It also only makes the noise (sounds like wind blowing over a pipe) when the drive terrain has no load on it...going down hill (over 40mph) and backing off the throttle just enough to coast.

Mark, i have the same problem as well. i think, for the most part, alot of people have found that its old/worn u-joints that just dont like the angle when adding the lift. I will replace my u-joints eventually but right now its just more annoying than anything so ive been lazy to fix it.

Here is a link to a thread I started a couple weeks ago:

I still have the problem and have been in contact with Slee and may order his double cardan front shaft.

I tried changing the front shaft a while back, didn't help with the grrrr but got rid of the shaft vibration

one other thing I have noticed, I have the dif lock switch and forgot to turn it off awhile back, the grrrr was horrible with the dif engaged, which makes me think it might be something in the transfere case?

Brother in law's cruiser had similar noise he said it was like driving on the ripple strips at the side of the road. Every time I went in it no noise. Checked every thing nothing loose ,spoke to mechanic he said to check ftont shaft. Removed front shaft and the noise was still there.BIL heard it I still hadn't.Cruiser is fitted with part time kit so he was able to lock hubs one at a time to track down which side it was coming from. Read a thread on similar noise regarding the stub axle bush. If the bush is dry or worn it can make this noise. I replaced the bush for him and repacked the swivel housing and the noise is gone. He has done a couple of trips with some off roading and still no more noise.
