I am doing a group purchase of Digital Voltage meters. Actual cost is TBD, but estimate is very close to $45 for a red one, and $55 for a blue one, shipped. Compared to "list price," if you were to purchase one of these today, your cost would be more like $58 for a red one, and $68 for a blue one, including shipping, so this should net to about a $12-$13 savings.

Here is more info on the meters: DATEL DC Voltmeters

Part number for red one: DMS-20PC-0-DCM
Part number for blue one: DMS-20PC-0-DCM-B

Here's how this will work:

1. Post up that you're interested, and how many, and in what color (red or blue). Deadline is PAST! NO MO!! FINITO!

2. I will then contact Datel, with our quantities, and get a final bottom line price.

3. I will then confirm the actual price and post that up here, and you have the weekend to send me the funds.

4. On Monday, after everyone has paid, I place our order and should have meters in hand by Wednesday. I'll then redistribute, so you will have yours in hand by Saturday, latest Monday 6/29. If you can't commit to paying this weekend, please don't play. To be fair to everyone else, I'll be placing our order for everyone who has paid on Monday 6/22, which won't include you, if you didn't pay, even if you posted up that you're interested.

Why do you want a digital voltmeter? Well so you can monitor your battery voltage in real time... check out TrickyT's digital voltmeter bling thread. https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/287090-digital-voltmeter-bling.html

And if you have a 95-97 80 series, you may also be interested in a bezel that will hold this meter, which you can see here: Gamiviti - custom mic holders At that point you're a trip to Radio Shack away from having a switchable, real-time monitoring solution for your batteries. This is going to be the only time I orchestrate one of these "group buys," after that I'll be bundling these meters with the switch, the bezel, the in-line fuses, and wire terminals, at a price that'll be a little more than you early adopters will be able to piece this all together for, but less than you'll be at if you tried to put this all together on your own purchased separately.

What about the green one that TrickyT is running? I really like having all green in my cockpit :D

AFAIK, those are only available as displays, not the all-in-one plug & play unit. So you'd need to wire up a board & so forth, like he did. The red and green ones listed here are the stand-alone, versions.

1 Blue please :D

Thanks Nakman

Can we get a bezel at the same time from this group buy? Can there be a package price for those of us who have an 95-97 80 series and want the meter, switch and bezel?

:edit:
'cuz you know I'm down for a blue one...
:edit off:

Yeah, I reckon we can come up with something. The bezel is $25, those switches are $4 at Radio Shack. The mic holder is $10, $15 with LED. I don't have any room with the Radio Shack stuff, and I'm passing on all the "room" on the meters to whomever participates in this group buy. But I do have some room in the bezels and mic holders, and could probably get into the $90-$95 range for the whole package, seen here:

NAK, is the bezel still the same as the first batch? If not, will this still work with the first version?

No, it's different, the first version has two openings for two switches. This new one has a hole for a toggle switch, a recess in the back for the actual switch, then an opening sized specifically for this Datel meter, and one of the existing switch openings on the other side. The Datel meter will not fit into one of the switch openings, it's too tall and not wide enough.

make sense?

Tim, I'll take two in Red. Lemme know....

Bumpity bump...You know you want the bling!! :D

Must find a location on a '94 for this since the bezel is out.

Anyone on the fence about the bezel...don't be. Nak makes wonderful products for our 80's!

1.38x.88x1.0 in inches for the dimensions if anyone cares. My center console is full.

Thanks, Brent! Yeah I'm going to have to get my hands on a 93-94 for a while so I can drum up some special OBD1 products for you.

And "two hour" call for this group buy, I'll order them in a couple hours then get back everyone VIA PM...
