I’ve been waiting for soooooo long to get in on an OPOR slider group buy for my GX470.

This will be my first legit off-road mod and I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve always wanted the OPOR sliders because I think they’re the most aesthetically pleasing and seem to offer the best combination of looks and functionality.

The $100 shipping credit was the real tipping point for me.

@MT4x4 you guys kick a$$! Thanks for making this happen!

...now I just have to save up for a Goblin bumper!

Update: order was placed maybe 6 hrs ago and already SHIPPED!!! You guys are animals! Keep up the good work!

Chris it seems a lot of people have issues getting the Rivnuts to set properly. There are several ways to install those, any suggestions on how best to set those properly and so they are solid? Also, is there a suggested torque on those - it seems even with one well set if you cranked on the bolt enough you might get it to spin at some point. Thanks!

George, if you need a hand with slider install, let me know. FWIW the rivnuts are, imho, an undesireable option. I drilled through the frame for my install, and sourced the extra hardware pieces locally (still have the 1/2" bit, but it may need sharpening). If you're adamant on using the rivnuts and have problems, I have the set you can have.

They can be a pain sometimes. Two suggestions then another option:

Suggestion 1 - I like to use one drill bit size down from the recommended size first. I'll try the rivnut to see if it will go in tight, if not I'll work the bit in the drilled hole just until the rivnut seats. Its important that the hole is as close to perfect as possible and the rivnut is in the frame tightly for a good connection.

Suggestion 2 - I like to use an impact or cordless to drive the rivnut into place quickly to get it seated, not allowing it a chance to spin in place. This will be much better typically then installing it by hand tools.

These both will help with a successful rivnut install. Otherwise here is an additional option:

- Feed the bolt through the hole in the frame with threads protruding outwards and using an impact hit it with a lock washer and nut on the out side of the frame to get a good purchase. This method does not require the rivnut at all but can be difficult without some wire to help feed the bolt through.

Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions! Also, feel free to contact us if you ever need anything or have more questions, 503-822-1111 or info@metaltech4x4.com Thanks! :)

So the $100 shipping credit will be seen as a refund? It doesn't show in the cart when you add the code.

love my MetalTech rear bumper, grey customer service and Mark and team work hard to keep you happy

Thanks for the tips Chris!

Picked up my sliders!

They're very beefy and the welds look great!

I'm really looking forward to getting them mounted up.

Very pleased with the product and the service I've got so far!

I placed my order last week and still havent received any updates (other than from my CC company). I assume you guys are pretty backed up?
