Group buy for LCA Aux tanks?

I got mine 2019 Black Friday:
“Thank you for your enquiry. Your kit is in stock at $1,795 minus $200 sale discount = $1,595.
Shipping to commercial address for scheduled delivery with fork lift on site is $195.”

That's the pricing I remember back in early '19 when I was considering one for our last GX. That's more or less the pricing I consider acceptable for such a product too, IMHO they've gotten a touch out of hand in regards to what they are asking for them now. That said, what hasn't these past few years lol.

It is what it is nowadays, just like eggs and houses and baby Tylenol. If you need or or want it or will put it to immediate use, just go for it. In ten years you won’t be thinking about the minor price difference pre/post pandemic inflation, you’ll be enjoying your travels and planning/exploring differently. Nothing is going to get cheaper, that’s not how economics works.

Oh I understand it, I just don't agree with it, besides it's way down my list of mods in terms of what I deem necessary or desirable for my particular build and needs. I will hold out for the BF Sale this fall but I am happy to see that they are giving y'all a little more off than they originally offered.

Exactly. Not only that, but add install, swing out for the spare, beefier springs, etc…I’m $8-10k deep in a mod where a pair of $60 Jerry cans do me just fine 80% of the time. Love the idea but every time I do the math it winds up being a pass.

To be fair, none of that is required, and to a degree would be partially for other goals.

I know it can be hard to think the 12.5G is worthwhile when there's bigger number options. The reality is it makes for 60% more usable fuel and range, and that's been a game changer in my years of use. I would pick the 12.5G again every time.

Totally understand that everyone needs to find their own balance.

Anyone interested in pulling together to see about a group buy of some Long Range America auxiliary fuel tanks? I’m after at 12.5.

EDIT: I’ve had no contact with LRA, just floating the idea here first to gauge interest. If there’s enough interest, I’ll contact them for info.
Thanks for pulling this together. I'll be entering my order for a 12.5 gal

Count me in for the 12.5G tank
Place your order on the LRA site using the AndyWins350 code. As of today they have 2 in stock for shipment out, otherwise the next lot is 120 days out.

I was looking to get the tank for my Troopy not my LX. The site said the discount doesn't apply to that tank. I thought the discount was not limited to 200 series tanks?

It is limited to Land Cruisers only. Originally LRA stated 200 Series, but due to interest from other LC drivers they agreed to open it to other LC series. Wouldn't hurt to email and ask, maybe they'll be receptive.

I'll try them. The Troopy is an FJ75 Land Cruiser.

Definitely worth reaching out!

Re: Troopy, newer to LC Universe and we also used to call my neighbor's Dad's Isuzu Trooper 'Troopy' :)
Welcome to the universe! I'll try calling them tomorrow. Thanks for all your efforts in getting us a good discount.

I fortunately sprung for one this past Black Friday when they had a 30% off sale. If you can wait that’s what I’d do. I went with the 12.5G and have to say that the upgrade has been great so far. I have zero intention of doing a swing out tire carrier (been there, done that) so I went with the 12.5G to retain the spare tire. It’s nice to have the aux tank for those long road trips where at the press of a button I can essentially fill up another 1/2 tank while I’m driving. With the way my truck sits now, I probably average 12-14mpg and have a range of 250-280 miles with winter fuel. It goes up in spring and summer when they go back to non-winterized fuel. The extra 12.5g adds at least another 125 miles of range. I use it all the time. There is a not a time where I don’t use the aux tank which is the advantage over doing jerry cans. Having jerry cans on the back of your vehicle for daily use is just an ornament. With an aux tank it’s something used for regular commuting. I can still add jerry cans to the roof if I want to as well for those long expeditions which is what I’m doing at the end of the month doing The Maze. Realistically the 12.5g tank fills up about 11.5g and then I’ll add a 5gal Armadillo Bag. That’s an additional 16.5gal without ever needing to run a rear swing out tire carrier.

A bump for last minute orders through tomorrow: Code AndyWins350

My 12.5 gal tank arrived earlier this week and will installed within next few weeks by Goode Offroad in Dallas.

Mine was shipped shortly after ordering opened up and was installed last week. Working seamlessly. Used it this week for a 4 hour drive through central Oregon, only stopped to release fluids instead of needing to fill up on them. Great purchase.
