Just wondering if some one can help me indentfy the problem when in 4 wheel drive, everytime you let off the throttle, you can here a grating sound, not sure where it's coming from and only when it's in 4wd. The bj74 has 212000km, driveshaft is in good condition, no oil leaks.

Front u-joints, or splines of the front driveshaft are the1st two that come to mind. Do you have a lift on it? Pinion flange orientation to each other is another item to check.

u jonts and splines look good, I do have ome springs with extended shackles but our other bj74 has the same springs without the extended shackles and runs fine, do you recommend changing the angle of the pionion flange with spring wedges?
thanks for your reply
