My 97 FJ80 is now converted to the 90-94 "TOYOTA" Grill. I mounted it with no issues, but was not content with the "gap" between lower grill and filler panel. To address this issue, I took a different approach than the standard "change the filler panel to 90-94" remedy to fill the gap. What I did was cut the lower chrome trim off of my old 97 Grill and attached it to the < 94 Grill. The cut actually went much smoother than anticipated. I made the cut with my Dremel cutting wheel. There is a very straight line to follow where the chrome meets the gray grill color. So....I cut it along this line.
Some pics:

I mocked up the bottom trim and held it in place with Gorilla Tape:

I applied painters tape on the front side to prevent epoxy from bleeding / running through the seam:

Then, 2 Part Epoxy was applied on the back side at the seam:

The epoxy calls for 1 hour cure time, but I let her sit about 24 hours. She feels like a super-strong bond. I scuffed parts and cleaned with alcohol prior to to bonding....we shall see.....

Finished product installed:

That's exactly how I approached this a 4 years ago....nice job

Don't know why some of my pics came out rotated 90 degrees...
Perhaps admin can rotate them back.....?
