I know I a man idiot for not listening to you all, but I want to help others to not follow in my shoes...
Concerns with dealing with dealing with Greg Mushro at Vintage Offroad:
Accepted $800 for shipping initially then sent the truck COD for $1800 upon completition. Stated the rebuild exceeded his estimate, so he was keeping the initial $800 for himself.
Stated the rebuild would take 6 to 9 months, and then made excuses of all sorts for the next year taking a total of 18 months to complete the project
Charged for raptor lining the chasis, but did not do so. Installed Raptor lining unevenly to the tub, and did not let it cure in doors so it was permanently coated in AZ dust. The raptor lining in the back of the tub arrived thin so it rusted through in no time due to the water which pooled in the back from the ill fitting Best Top he sold me. The paint or whatever he put on the chasis and under the tub has been peeling off for the past 6 months to year.
Charged $500 to give the truck an inspection and fluid change in all areas. The truck showed up leaking oil, an empty radiator, a cracked radiator, and $2000 in repairs to get it running smoothly. The steering wheel was even on crooked.
The fuel return line was not capped for the Weber carb installation, so it was dumping gas unti lyou guys told me what was going on.
The lower dash paneling was glued on
The heater doesn't work.
He sold me new 4 point restraints and a new soft doors which showed up used and damaged.
The "new Best Top" showed up not sealing to the rear tub door allowing water to poor into the truck.
He promised Jerry cans which he never sent.
He kept the two boxes in the tub and the locking center console which were sold with the truck.
There were several scratches on the truck which were visibly identifiable as being done with a screwdriver during installation of the left rear diamond quarter paneling, as well as, left and right steps.
Odometer did not work. Gas gauge and temp gauge do not work. Cigarette lighter did not work. Wind shield wiper fluid did not work.
Fly wheel cover (Bell Housing) was missing.
Rear tail light vaults were missing.
The paint job ($1500) was not completed under the rear fenders
He promised a flat not gloss paint job of desert tan, and then made excuses applying a mustard yellow gloss paint job.
The hood and body were rusted under the hood hinges through his "paint job'.
He advertised a "hunter package" which included a matted paint job, vaulted tail and turn lights, and light covers. None delivered.
Used a mismatch of rusty bolts to install the seats and seat belts instead of making the little extra effort to use stainless steal on a 25k project.
Customer service was awful during the entire experience. excuses, delays, increase in build prices etc etc. Lie after Lie after Lie.
As soon as he received the check he took an entirely different tone in our conversation.
I have spent the last year attempting to redo his failed "upgrades", and have the various "unknown difficulties" with the vehicle corrected.
How do you sleep at night Greg?
