Hello,

I am a Toyota freak too! I joined the forum to learn more about Fj's mostly...I have an 84' 4runner that I have used for about 2 years.

Just purchased two FJ40's, one is running, (just needs some tlc), the other has been a project of my brother in law's for the last 10 or more years, I took it on to complete.

I am interested in joining Yankee toys and TLCA. Plan to contact them soon.

Welcome Sam!
Good group of folks here, lots of knowledge,
lots of people willing to lend a hand.
Where are you from?
Any pics of your Toyotas?

Hi Lane,

I reside in Middletown CT and spend most of my weekends in Unity NH. I have land there. I got the 4runner mostly to do work on the land and build a cabin...It has been a priceless tool. Used it to haul all of our materials up the hill where I could not get anyone to deliver to. It was a sight to see 16' 2x10's hanging out the back while going up a pretty steep grade.

I could not turn up the deal to buy the FJ's...They will be really great to do work up there, I plan to build a road to the top of my hill so I can put in an off the grid home. One of the FJ's has a Warn 8274 winch, that will be great to move around some logs, etc.

No pics at the moment, I will try and post some soon.

<<<<<< Think you can find me?:) Shoot me a note if you need a hand with the Cruisers or just want to BS. Believe it or not, there's a few of us right around you.

Hey great...I am sure I will have questions. I'm one of those people, (jack of many trades/master of none). I'm not afraid to try basically anything, but I have yet to do a full on restore project.

One of the FJ's I got is basically to this point:
Frame has been blasted and epoxy painted
Alluminum tub installed
all other body panels are primed and ready
Motor, (2F):
Head was sent out
headers installed
Motor/transmisson etc. is in, but needs basically everything attached and tuned etc.

I'm still at the stage of bringing more boxes full of stuff from my Bro's.

The deal was:
77'FJ project in mid stage, 76' FJ that runs but needs maybe an alternator or battery, and he swapped the rear axle, (with disc's) over to the one that runs...but did not hook up the lines/modulator and bleed adjust etc., plus he is giving me everthing he has that is Toyota parts. All for $5,000.

Sounded like a good deal to me, and I can really use these vehicles on my land in NH. Oh yeah, the one that runs has a nice winch that has yet to be used...

Thanks for the greetings, I am sure I will have questions and or need help in the not too distant future.
Looking for ward to meeting You all.

Just sent in my check to join Yankee toys...

Welcome!!! Try to bring as many FJ's as you can to the Fall Gathering. Great to have you here!!

Need pictures!!!!!!

Yeah, I am working on some ideas for a few trails around to get here and there. I want to make a trail to the top of the hill so I can work on a spot to one day build there. We have 56 acres, some of it is pretty rough.

I am still thinking about where I might want a trail and where I dont want touched. Alot of the land is "moist" almost all of the year. There are some sections I would like to harvest some rocks and logs for building, so I may put some access trails in the future.

 Sam

I'll keep that in mind...Thanks.

Looking forward to meeting You all at the meeting.

Sam,

Welcome. Glad to see another CT resident thinking about joining.

If you are interested, there is a COALT meeting on 3/27, 6:30 PM at Sliders Sports Bar in Berlin - www.sliderssportsbar.com

COALT is the Connecticut Open Access Land Trust and we plan to purchase land in CT for motorized recreation.

The wings are not bad.

Sam, welcome to the world of cruisers. Sounds like ya got a great deal. All my cruisers live in Durham, I sleep in Manchester. If ya ever need anything- parts, tools, knowledge, questions, let me know. Always willing to lend a hand, along with the others.

Thanks, and I will keep it in mind.

Sam
