I keep mine on the shelf as a spare, it ran really good and it was the original one to the rig. I think it was in the truck 48 years total. I never ran it with the vaccum retard on; I capped it off and ran it mechanical advance. I'll never get rid of it since it came with my Fj40.
I think most people have or are looking to upgrade to a vaccum advanced distributor whenever possible. A while ago I remember seeing these distributors being offered for about $30 on the forum . I think marks offroad was, at one point, even giving them out for free if you ordered something.
