grease fittings

it was sugested by the guy who powder-costed my iIon Pig Bumper to install a grease fitting on the pivot of the swing away carrier.
is there anyhting i need to know.
size? ( for a common grease gun)
thread?
can i get these at any auto parts store?

and, i klnow, i know...pics are coming soon. spent christmas night, IN THE RAIN installing the bumper. removing the old one was a BEE-ATCH! broke every bolt.

Pretty straighforward... use a straight fitting, no longer than the thickness of your outer swivel. If you don't want to tap the hole, at least use a self-tapping zerk rather than a driven one. Any auto parts or good hardware store should have them.
