so I went out tonight and picked it up. got the matching tarp to go with it. tows like a dream although i can definitely feel it on hills even empty which is new to me with a trailer that size.

the guy who sold it to me is a military buff and has a yard full of cool stuff including a bunch of other trailers. he let me grab some photos.

here is my new trailer in the process of demonstrating it won't hit the body if it jacknifes. After that comes two shots of an m416 with a tailgate cut into it by the army. Interesting method they used to brace it externally to maximize the gate size.

he had several m101s, several 416s and also some old m100s including one nicely restored. I have to say I like the look of the rounded fenders on the m100.

here are the remaining 101s for sale, some 100s, and an m116 with the generators still on it (he also had a 116 that was so clean I though it was brand new - man those things are beefy)

he also has a bunch of the tarps nib for sale if anyone wants them. He is hoping to get $100 cdn although I can likely swing a deal for you and he will also trade them straight across for original light set ups for a 101 if yours came with them. they are definitely very nice tarps with the bungies.

Interesting method indeed. I am in the process of cutting into the back of mine tonight just for a tail gate.

But I don't think I am going to brace to that extent. I feel this thing is stout enough. Although I am going to add some angle iron(small 3/4) to the edges. Also some strapping along the tailgate for extra support.

With chains to limit the down travel.

Cool trailers arn't they?? I like mine. It even tows behind my Mercedes car pretty good. My cruiser isn't out of my garage yet. So don't know how it will do behind it.

I towed my M101 all the way from Edmonton to Northern BC, with the Mercedes. :) 1300 plus KMs

Semlin,

Where is he located???

thanks

Ryan

Those trailers are heavy indeed. I wish they had some kind of braking device, or I could find some 24 v electric brakes to go on them. Below pictures of the backroad to Tecpán, Guatemala, with the trailer vgiving me grief :)

X 2 .. and how much ? I have been looking for one with no LUCK ?????

Thanks, :D

vancouver, canada and his price is $750CDN. I know nothing of the import issues on a trailer. you'd have to speak to customs.

Semlin,

Congratulations on purchasing a trailer. These little buggers are hard to find in good shape. Enjoy....

What if It's hooked to the back of your rig and it's full of your camping gear?....;)

Head north with gear in truck, get trailer, load gear in trailer, head home...

Bring a plate from your utility trailer from home too. If you don't have a utility trailer, make a friend sell you his for a buck, register it and then take the plate up with you, when you get back home sell his trailer back for a buck.....

Too crooked? I think that is grey registration for trailers. :)

In BC they make you insure your trailer, all other provinces its a lifetime plate. At least the provinces I lived in.

I have a better idea.... Get ahold of Koffer he is in NJ. He has bunches of these and can ship them. That is where I got mine.

actually they photograph your plate as you cross the border and store it and track you that way so unless you take a sacrificial trailer with you that will not work.

i doubt there is anything much to transferring the trailer. just get a bill of sale and talk to us customs. no duty to pay as these are 100% made in canada and there is free trade so unless your state has sales tax...

OK,

How about "Look what followed me home, can I keep it?"

....?
