Is that the Dodge-Cummins diesel truck? I heard that they had weakness issues in the middle frame area. Just a bit of scuttlebut, but it may be true.
If you have a great drivetrain and suspension, the secret is to connect it together with a frame that is equal to the job. Without a solid frame, you have nothing.

Yeah, something like that. A good suspension needs to be connected with some steel in the frame.
Exactly what part of lack of steel do we not understand? You will never see a Japanese truck broken in half due to a lack of steel in the frame. Americans have this concept of a flexible frame. This does not work. Springs and suspensions flex. Frames should not flex. Frames should be rigid and strong. Flexible frames crack and break. Americam firms cannot seem to get this concept. Frames should be welded, not riveted. The strength should be overkill, not just barely enough.
One of the most costly modifications to be made to any domestic 4X4 is to remove the frame and weld all of the seams, making the rivets unimportant. All Japanese trucks have fully welded frames from the factory. There is a reason for this. Barely enough is not good enough!
