Christmas is over and so is my position as President of one of the best off road clubs in the area. After 2 years I'm passing it along to our newly elected president "Big" Jim Adams who I know will do a GREAT job in this position.
Those who have wheeled with Jim know that he's the guy to hang with, Jim caries enough parts and tools with him that he could build a Cruiser or Jeep or Full Chevy on the trail (although he has trouble with chain saw chains) he's always ready and willing to jump in and help others.
So I think the clubs in good hands and Jim's got a good bunch of people to help him out with Dave Thomas as VP, Tony Twiddy as treasurer, and Melissa Steiner will be handling the secretarial stuff.
Others who stepped up to help like Dion Mattei who volunteered to over see and keep up the calendar for 08' has already started booking runs and asking for ideas. It took some talking but the clubs got Ross Woody handling the Fun Day event again. We also have Chris Ward ramrodding the clubs biggest event the Swap Meet, he's going to need help as the time gets closer so don't be shy, see if he needs a hand.
So many key members keep it going- Michael Dremann our TLCA delegate (Michael you know were just joking-we love ya), John Evans who has been our managing editor of the all important Newsletter, I'll be interested to see what direction the Newsletter will go in the up coming year. And many more that are in the back ground that help.
This was Pacific Mountain Cruisers 10 anniversary and 2008 will be the first time that one of our founding fathers will not be in the leadership team. Roger Taylor is going to sit this year out. Over the years Roger has taken on many of the leadership positions, sometimes a couple of years in a row. Roger is one of the reasons this clubs here and still exist, his ideas and strong beliefs in how the club should be run was a asset. I have no doubt that Roger will be a "back seat driver" and have some good ideas for the new team to help keep us on top.
AS for me, I want to thank everyone that helped keep this club going, as we all know there's a core group of people that seem to always be there, runs, meetings, group get together's, etc. and as the years go on I hope that group gets larger. I'm starting to see a lot of new younger family members joining the club and that's great because one of the reasons we pulled the club together is to promote "safe family fun" and try to cover a wide range of actives from the hard core runs to Family Fun Day.
Thanks Again and Happy New Year-
Tim
