I'm pretty sure my wheel bearing are shot. So no matter what, I am at least going to have both sides of the front end apart to redo those. I'm wondering how much is involved in taking out the axles? I've been really needing to redo the straps on the boots, and I had the thought that it would be alot easier with them removed.

Also, I need a recommendation for best marine grade grease to use on the new bearings. I am going to kit Part# FAWB9807T from Cruiser Outfitters. It comes with "two wheel bearings, wheel seal and hub gasket." What else do I need to do the bearings?

Thanks for any help you guys can give!

Not a bad idea to replace the locking washers. Some would recommend to replace the races with new bearings. I usually leave the races on a repack and replace when I do new. If you are going to pull the cv's you will want to get new axle seals (at the diff).

The only thing other than the races I see is the snap rings. I keep a full set of the different sizes but typically reuse the ones that are on it as long as the fit right.
