Just got home and found an empty chewed up bottle of my wife's thyroid meds (2 month's worth) that was on the kitchen counter.....
No symptons, but Mom and daughter are on their way with Nali to the doggie ER.:bang:

ooooph. hope it works out alright. might start lubing up now, for the bill.

Depending on the timing and how long the dog's had to absorb them, you can induce vomiting at home fairly easily. Our lab went through a sock eating phase. My daughter saw her gnawing on one and it appeared that she'd swallowed it. Vet friend had me give her half a cup of hydrogen peroxide, used a funnel and poured it in. I didn't think anything was going to happen, but a few seconds later it was projectile vomit time - sock included.

Pooch is fine, no idea when she ingested them but with her metabolism should have burned up in about 30 seconds. They ran tests, pumped her full of activated charcoal, and sent her home. Have no idea on the cost, didn't ask, and frankly, don't want to know..

Funny, I dropped a thyroid pill on the floor this morning. As usual, follow the the cat. They always track them down before I can find them. As careful as I am with meds, it's amazing how many pills I find under the appliances.

I'm good about keeping hazardous materials out of the house but meds are one of my biggest fears. It's good to hear that a massive overdose of thyroid didn't do much harm. I would have thought it would have caused a serious cardiac emergency.

Of course, your wife is going to be a slug for two months.

How about unpredictable, moody, grouchy slug.

Try "The dog ate my meds" on the Doctor and the insurance provider and see how it goes.......
This is what she is dealing with and not a happy camper already. Hope we have some positive news very soon.

Thyroid meds are cheap if you can get a script. Probably somewhere online where you can get it without. Doc shouldn't have an issue with replacing the script, it's not like abusing the stuff is any fun.
