Looking for some input from the group on a 2015 LC I’m close to buying.
  • 1-owner corporate vehicle
  • Spent life in the Southeast
  • 188,805 miles
  • Minor front damage reported in 2019 (appears to be bumper/hood repaint only)
  • Extensive dealer service history – water pump, plugs, fuel pump, coolant/diff/transfer/trans fluids, belts, and brakes all done at local Toyota dealership
  • Dealer is asking $31,498
Photos of the hood and undercarriage below — curious what everyone thinks about:
  1. Whether this looks like a solid buy or a bit high for the mileage.
  2. If the undercarriage surface rust seems concerning or pretty typical for this age/mileage.
  3. Does the hood look like it can be refinished? If so, does $1,000 to refinish sound about right?
Appreciate any thoughts from those who’ve owned or bought similar 200-series rigs recently.

Rust is not a deal-breaker from the limited photo info. The KDSS shutter valves are likely rust-welded, but that’s typical for a 10 year old.

Undercarriage looks fine. Hood looks rough so we'll need more photos. 31.5K feels high to me, but I just paid 17K for an LX570 that had 5K more miles and was in similar shape.

Last December I paid 25k for a 150k 2013 1 owner. Great Deal but yeah 31.5 is high probably.

I bought my 2015, w/ 175K miles, 2 years ago for $31K in Kansas and thought I got a steal. At that time, comps were around $33 or $34k. Not sure about now. I think prices have come down.

That failed PPF on the hood will be a pain to remove. Mine was the same and I paid a detailer to remove it as part of the paint correction and ceramic coating. He said it took his guy a full day to remove it and they were worried they would damage the paint. They refused to do the mirrors as they were sure the PPF would pull the paint off the plastic. I think the total for the paint correction of the whole truck was like $800.

Here it is after the paint correction. I don’t seem to have a good before pic but it was stunning how good it looked after. Probably a waste given how I really use my truck.

I appreciate all the responses. Decided not to pursue this one further.
