:crybaby: I wanna land cruiser.... I'm a newbie, can't deny it... I'm going Thursday morning to look at a 1995 Land Cruiser with 175k miles. It is from a private seller. He is asking $7500. IT DOES HAVE LOCKERS (seen it in the photos). I'm looking for a vehicle that I can take the wife and 4 year old 4-wheelin in relative comfort. I'm looking more into an exploration/expedition type vehicle and I'm not really plannin on anything extreme (rock crawling). Would like to add a lift, arb bumper and biiiiiig tires. I have been over and over the "what to look for" (memorized and printed out just in case) section, but is 7500 for a LC with 175k a decent price? He states that the vehicle is mechanically sound and that it is his wife's everyday drive to work vehicle. I'll know more Thursday morning when I see it. I would like something that I can get some life out of. It would not be a drive every day vehicle, just a take to the hills type.

ANY COMMENTS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.....

The vehicle is in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. I asked about it's cosmetic condition.....Owner stated that the only thing is a small scratch on the fender flare on drivers rear side.

Howdy. See if this helps. Woody and the moderators and members have put together quite a site. The search function works 77 percent of the time; it's quite helpful. Welcome aboard.

IMO, you don't yet have a good enough picture of the overall interior and exterior condition and the maintenance history or lack thereof to figure out value. I'd recommend seeing it in person and gathering as much as you can about what has been done to the truck. In my experience, very few civilian 80 Series owners maintain these trucks the way they should and the way we all know they need to be maintained. A guy can change the oil every 5000 miles and state that "its been meticulously maintained."

It may be worth $7500. But if it needs $2500 to be safe and reliable, you'll now have $10K in a 175K mile truck, plus your accessories. And I think the truck in the link below is a great barometer on what $10K can buy if you are a smart shopper:

My recommendation is to focus on finding a truck with a solid history and an acceptable list of "to-do's"......then back into the price from there.
