Installed the Gobi rack the other day, and noticed that the instructions say to install the spacers, then the flat plate, then the bracket on top of that. In following that instruction, it leaves the cavernous raw rain gutter underneath it totally exposed. When it rains, wouldn't water collect in there, and eventually rust?
I am wondering if maybe the installation instructions were wrong, and the plate goes to cover the hole, then the spacers, and then the raised bracket. See picture below.
Thoughts? I'm planning on calling Gobi or EAD Off Road today to get answers.
I know, when I took the photo, I hadn't cleaned all the grime off from the oem rack.
