Anyone planning on turkey hunting this season? I've never been but really want to learn. I got tags this year but don't know where to go.

Head into the national forest and scout around, Hell Hole WMA is one of the best places in my opinion. Go on google earth and locate fields, then go check them out for activity and turkey sign

deal...i dont hunt them with shotgun anymore only my longbow or selfbows... had two within 15 yds last time and choked the shots..year before had 4 within 20 yards with one being about 10 yds...no shots...lot different game with a selfbow.

The Francis Marion NF is a good place you have to just go and scout. There is more law enforcement in the woods than you think and most people turkey hunt near the main drags anyway out there. You have to go into the woods some people get confused by that out there and you can escape the city slickers pretty quick if you know where to go. I go out there a lot and have never had problems with anyone. My tip scout and go early in the season.

and Hell Hole used to have a bunch of turkeys but the scouting and walking was tough due to all the debris on ground from Hugo back in 1989.....it is just now opening up but very thick and heavy with mosquitoes.

Anyone want to do some scouting? I don't really know what to look for. Guess I could google it.

I'm pretty flexible during the week. Weekends are tough though.
