As most of you may have seen from this thread, the Toyota Trail Riders are hosting the Lone Star Toyota Jamboree at the Barnwell Mountain Recreation Area in Gilmer, TX from January 19th – 22nd.

Ivan "Ironman" Stewart and his wife Linda have graciously agreed to attend the event. They will be there all day and will be available for chatting, photographs, autographs and Toyota of Dallas will provide a built 2006 Tacoma for him to do some wheeling as well!

Toyota is still working on getting one of the FJ Cruisers out for a ride-n-drive, but we haven't gotten confirmation yet.

If you haven't made the commitment to register for the event, the time to do it is now!

This is a non-profit, TLCA sanctioned event for the purpose of raising funds for Texas Motorized Trails Coalition (TMTC) and to promote camaraderie among all Toyota off-road enthusiasts. There will be nationally known sponsors, magazine coverage, and as of now, Toyota is planning on bringing a new FJ Cruiser for test drives on the trails!

Please go here: Lone Star Toyota Jamboree and register today!

Great, you Texans put on some great events....but I think in 06 we need to see some Texans at the Southern Cruiser Crawl!

It's could be a challenge for the 06 season...how many Cottonland folks show up to Texas events is how many Texans will show up to the Cruiser Crawl in 06?

What you say Chris?

Oh yea, so far Bodean,Trained Killa, me & wife (she wheels)...possibly others?

Chris you have a PM.

Sent my registration in this week. Found out last week that I potentially have Jury duty for the month of Jan. Maybe if I go in telling the interviewer that I am ready to "kill" someone then he will excuse me from the jury pool. Any ideas?

Later,

Just be yourself. Shouldn't be a problem. :D

it really depends on whether it's a criminal or civil case, and what group you are put into (or where you fall in the jury pool). before you even open your mouth, assuming you're a white male, you'll be viewed exactly opposite by the prosecution and the defense in a criminal matter as you will in a civil one.

keep in mind that, because of the way jury selection is set up in MS, your goal isn't to be so violently abrasive that one side feels they need to kick you, but rather to simply not be picked in the first place. so what you really want to do is not appear overly desireable to either side (or at least answer questions that lead to uncertainty about where you actually stand).

i'm not saying the "kill" tactic won't work- actually even my way is really too simple a way to look at it. too many scenarios and variables, but if you want PM me and i'll give you some tips.

Just registered for the weekend...

Greg, you said you would ride with someone in the other thread... well I'm officially coming and will probably have no co-pilot so it'd be nice to have you along. I'll be spending Weds. night in MS.

Jeff, hope you don't get caught in jury duty.

I'm gonna tell them " I quit" on the first day. That ought to do it! Do you think I could get into any trouble if I just didn't call those few days? No, really, the instructions say tou can get off for a sheduled vacation if you give them notice. I'll be there!!!!

Later,
