Installed summer of 2020.
She's done now. The lower tab finally sheared off. The door is trashed, tearing apart at the top connection and smashed in at the lower section. I've got a new door in the shop, I won't be doing a door mount tire again.

I have the same carrier and have had it on a year now. Did your kit attach to both the inner and outer door skin or just the outer? Out of curiosity what size tire were you running?

I wanted door mount tire carrier for convenience but always worry about this. I end up building my own spare tire carrier and glad I did it.

Caught mine early. Just installed their bumper mounted swingarm. A little more inconvenience, but there is no more weight on the door.

Thanks for posting. I was pretty sure I'd go swing out but this confirmed it.

I'm running 265/70s and have the newer kit with the additional bracing so I hope it doesn't meet the same fate but I will keep a closer eye on it now. Is this the factory powder coat or did you paint it yourself?

Factory powder coat. It peeled off in a bunch of places in a couple years, I wire brushed it in spots and rattle canned it

That's pretty unacceptable if you ask me. I got it raw and painted it myself. I hope my DIY back yard paint job holds up better. I don't think I will purchase anything else from them considering your experience.
