FRS as a minimum. The goal was to have a more common radio platform. Many members don't have a CB, and many of those aren't working properly. A handheld FRS radio can be picked up for small coin. So hopefully everyone on our trail runs has a way to communicate to the other drivers. Of course, the bigger wattage allowance from GMRS is a plus and HAM is great too, especially if you're travelling in MT alone and use it for long(er) distance emergency communications. So we strongly recommend those.
