Greeting to all, I just purchased (my 5th) FJ40 off of Craig list so I thought I had better get in with the FJ crowd. I am retired, a widower, 74 year young and have been living in MT since 1995. I built a shop off of Bootlegger and play with old cars. When a 66 FJ40 came up on Craigs List I knew I had to have it. Life is good!
Rusty-Nut (my FJ) is going to be a hunting/fishing rig so it will basically be stock and reliable. I have installed a new clutch kit, 12000 lbs winch (HF special), I'm working on the brakes now and have a few electrical issues to fix. After I get it running reliably I will fix some of the rust and install a roll bar and gun mounts.
My shop (on Banjo Hill Lane) is 48'x48', has 8 12'x12' bays, a 2 post lift, welding equipment and a 200 lb rottweiler guard dog (just kidding just a Turlock Terrier). One of these day I am going to complete the house I started but as long as my daughter is allowing me to sleep in the basement what more could you ask for. You have to get your priorities straight.
Well folks it is Gin&Tonic time (you have to worry about scurvy) especially after a hard day under an FJ40 so I will be around.
