Glacier National Park -2021 (1 Viewer)

A friend and I are planning to drive the approx. 2100 miles to Glacier NP next year. I'd love any suggestions from anyone that has (A) been there and can advise some details and (B) has taken a trip of this length (approx 2-weeks) and lived out of their 80 series for that period. Funds are not exactly plentiful and I will not able to modify my 80 beyond its basically stock presentation. I have a 2nd battery system and a cheapo fridge and 4 Yakima bars but that's about it.

Sounds like an awesome trip! GNP is on my bucket list and we will hopefully be going next summer.

We did 8 weeks out west, living out of our 80, a few years ago. We had a RTT, but our daughter and dog slept in the truck. A fridge and a place to sleep are more than enough! Enjoy it!

What info about Glacier are you looking to get?

Hiking?
Fishing?
Driving? There is only one road that goes through the park, highway 2 cuts through the southern border of the park and just north of the Bob Marshall wilderness complex. Going to the Sun road is the one that goes across the park, add that to your bucket list for sure. Unless you don't like exposure.

It gets busy in the summer, and really the backcountry doesn't open until July 4th basically. Sometimes the Going to the Sun road doesn't open until the end of June ish. Logan pass parking sucks, the lot is full during the summer months by 7-8 am.

Currently the Blackfeet rez has the east side of the park closed, hopefully the world will be normal next year.
