Hi All:

Thanks for sharing your trail run video with us. :)

Love the high percentage of Isuzus (I drove a Trooper for 22 years) but you guys are at a disadvantage. :frown::frown:

I switched to a FJ40 for a trail rig back in the 1990s because it is a much better/easier platform to build for off-road performance.

Recently the Trooper was replaced by a Tacoma 4wd pick-up as a daily driver and mild-wheeler. Lots more $$ but also much more powerful engine, better suspension, etc. Oh yeah, and it has a rear e-locker! :p ;)

Hope to run into you guys some day out on the trail! :D

Regards,

Alan

Hey Alan!

Excellent rig choices! Isuzu certainly has it's downsides. I've owned 86 4runner SAS ($20k in parts), 99 4runner Limited Supercharged (built), 83 Toyota PU (EFI, 36s, dual t) and several others.

I've had just as much or more fun in my little Isuzu. It has terrible flex, not much ground clearance and difficult to modify. But it's possibly the most fun off road rig I've built. It forces you to become a better driver and amazes most bystanders. Bullet proof reliable. I'll take it on a 10hr drive to Canada and then off road it through Washington the following week. It has never missed a beat. I spend my time on the trail rather than under it.

BTW... Love those FJ40s! Hope to see you on the trails sometime.

-Peter
