Not enough info. We need pics of the truck, the mom and the GF. :grinpimp:

After we review them then we'll decide.

Get her insurance info and get the repair quote at the Dealer so it will be as high as possible.

Then Take the check and use it to get a lift, sliders, winch and new Bumpers!:grinpimp:

check

HOLYSH*T!!!

can i have the check issued directly to me instead of whoever is "doing the work" ??????

didnt know that

Yes.

I got rear ended in my Tacoma and it bent the hell out of the rear bumper. I have an ARB on the front that got pushed into the car in front of me. When the body shop looked at the damage they quoted a replacement Chrome rear bumper from toyota which was like $ 1000.00 and replacement of the ARB for ($1100.00). But the ARB didn't really need replacing just a new rubber peice in front, and I found an Aftermarket Steel Bumper for the rear for $550.00. Thats how i got my Winch. and it's not illegal.

I did a similar thing as 5280Hawk. I had an accident with my Taco and the insurance estimate to replace the front bumper, turn signal etc. was about $1500. I took the check minus my $500 deductable and got an ARB & pocketed the rest.
I'm sure though that the Insurance company is still making $$ though!

BTW - where are the pictures? GF, GF mom & truck!!

Is the GF a possible future wife, if so you may just want to let it ride, this kind of thing will pop up in the future if you use her insurance and raise her rates. On the other hand if you don't do anything and just play it cool, that Mom is going to always remember how cool you are!

Check with the insurance company you are filing the claim through. Some will only write the check to the shop that's doing the work if you are still financing the vehicle.

If the truck is paid off then, you can have the check written out to you.

I was with 21st Century Ins. and was involved in an accident that was not my fault and the other vehicle had no insurance. Estimated cost to fix my truck was about $9K. They wanted to make the check payable to the shop because their records showed I was still financing the vehicle. I corrected them with the pink slip and the check was made out to me. If it wasn't for the accident, I would've had to pay for my SAS, front bumper, sliders and wheels/tires with my tax return. :grinpimp:
