I just got 18mpg in my new 2000 stock 100. 99% flat highway driving using cruise control almost exclusively.

With Premium Fuel 91 octane:
18mpg

With Regular 87 octane:
15.8mpg

Buddy that has a cruiser seems shocked that I was able to get 18mpg... did I just get a lucky truck?

Still ended up being $5 cheaper to run on 87 vs the 91. However truck seems to have more power on 91. Maybe I can split the difference and use 89 and maybe get 17mpg?

Mixed highway and city i'm getting 13.5 on 87.... have not tracked city/highway with 91 octane yet...

In town w/ a few drives to work I averaged 12-13.
I recently drove from San Diego to Bishop, ca around 300miles with 2 adults and 3kids with some luggage and 2 bikes on the hitch. I used cruise control at 70mph and ave around 17-17.9 the best. I used 89 oct.

Going home I used cruise control at 75mph got 15-16mph.

I have 285/65/18 toyo open at2 @36psi

I used to be a lead foot but this car has forced me to slow down

How long was the trip?

Are you basing the mpgs on the computer or by actual calculation?

I got close to 18mpg once - 95% highway, cruise set at 70mph with a tail wind, on flat WB highway 50 in Nevada.

Now with 285s I'm lucky to see anything over 15mpg. It's soo dependent on HOW you drive though -- right now I'm on a trip to Portland from Sacramento - my father in law drove the first tank on the mostly flat section headed north and got like 12-13mpg doing 80+mph in the rain. I drove the pass across the border keeping it a little more tame at 70mph and managed to squeeze 15.5mpg. He has lead foot in every vehicle, I tend to back off in the cruiser because I can watch the needle move if I do. Lol

I average 15-16mpg with mixed street and highway driving. It seems to go down when you go above 70mph on the highway. Completely stock 07 LX470 with stock all-season Michelin tires.

Well after three days and 1850 miles we have been getting 16.5 mpg on 87, fully loaded

Last leg is today Las Cruces to San Diego
