Was wondering if anyone wanted to do a day run on Sat.?
Dead horse, bronco, slick rock, eldorado??
Wanna get matti twisted up some before rubicon!!!
Mark I know you have prior engagement, but...

Well ya ...I still would like to do something even tho I won't be available til 12:00. I could meet you at the markleville store at 1:00 and we could run slick rock or be at your house to run Bronco by 2:30. Or as Harry is doing run the first part of Fordyce and help out or just go to the river and back out. But that is really pushing it since we probably wouldn't hit the trail until 3:45. 2 weeks ago it took me about two hours to do that mostly cause of traffic going in and I was going out. Its doable but would be late when we got back(guessing about 7 or 8 back in Reno).:D

Let me know what your doing. It might be easier to grab Rusty and hit some trails up your way. Heck there is even Budwieser??:hmm:

Mark...
Not trying to cut you out brother, but...I have a dinner engagement at 630 I need to attend, so the earlier the better.

DirtyHarry,
I might be interested in this! Id be good to run and HELP for the day if I might be of some use!

Thanks for the heads up!

K

Ok I see how it is. No its all good...can't blame you. Wish I was able to do that. I love trail work parties and clean ups, it is the least we can do to keep our trails clean and open. And the FS and others need to see our caring efforts. Plus that trail rocks! That section, the first part to the 1st river Xing will be a good test and to get a flavor for the trail. I was going to say pop your cherry, but I do't talk like that:D. Have fun!

A guy on pirate PM'd me said that he was gonna be Rollin through reno, so I'm gonna follow him in.
Super excited about this!!
Great opportunity to see some of the trail/ area, meet some new and motivated wheelers and have a chance to help a group in maintaing a trail.

Thanks Harry for posting up!!
Hope to see you up there!!

So how did this pan out for you?

We had a great day! Keith was already there when I showed up and while others were struggling with pebbles he single handedly tossed boulders around for the trail repair! I pretty much just took photos and didn't get too dirty. Not that I am lazy (this time) but there was plenty of help. Webilt was really well organized, they banged out the fix in just a few hours.

Keith and I then convoyed back to Reno. I was really impressed by how well that 40 works on the pavement considering how built it is!

YES!!
it was a GREAT DAY!!
the webilt club were all SUPER GREAT folks. The appreciated all the people who showed to help and made folks like me (new guy) feel welcome. They even invited me to come to their meetings and run the trail w/ them.
Got to see a bit of the trail... From the little bit I had seen, it really was beautiful and so CLOSE to home (relatively speaking).
Had some gear oil puking from the breather outta the 203... Not sure what that's about??? Donno if I over filled it, or the filter is plugged.
Aside from that, the t case x member mod seems to be working. No leaks, anyway.
Harry and I were gonna head further into the trail and exit out cisco grove, but it was getting late and I had a dinner function to attend at 630.
Really would have liked to have gone further in.

Harry...
Thanks again for letting me know about this!!
It nice to meet new people in the hobby and it was great to wheel w/ you again even for a little bit.
Hope you and your dad make it next weekend!!

I think you will really enjoy the rest of the trail, it only gets better from where you were.

Couple pics of the maintenance.

That's the sketchiest spot on the trail, before they fixed it the first time it had some real pucker factor going. Looks like this fix is a lot more stable and will last a long time.

It was pretty slick how they did it!
They did the other one a couple years ago and it still looks as if it were just done.
I passed the spot prior to the repair we did, and it caused some concern to me when dry!
I heard some stories out there when folks were trying to cross with it wet, snowy and icy!!! I'd HATE IT!!

Glad to see that the trail is getting some love and Keith finally makes it to Fordyce!!

Now you see what I was talking about as far as being on the trail in an hour from Reno and what a trail it is. You will absolutely love it once you get to run the whole thing.

Yeah man!!
Like I said, we were gonna run in a bit further, but it was getting late in the day with 8-10 rigs ahead of us.
Just the bit I ran was super fun and VERY beautiful. That waterfall right next to DL hill was spectacular.

Hope to run it later when the club goes!!

Keith has more self-restraint than I do. This might be the reason he is married and I am not.

I was trying to convince him that we could make it to the committee crossing and be back to Reno in four hours!

That might have been doable given the rigs you guys were driving, but I think it would be nicer for Keith to take slow his first time. Fordyce really is to pretty to rush through.
