i just thought i'd post on here about my experiences now that i am coming up to two years with my 01/05 LC100. oh...that's January 2005....Aussie date format.

anyway. i remember posting something to a question about how my ARB bar affects the suspension....and at the time i said something like "i havent noticed anything ...blah blah"...

well...i have to say now, that yes the extra weight has affected my handling and i really need to upgrade my suspension. The stock LC100 suspension now constantly reminds me that i need to upgrade my suspension due to the extra weight up front.

Unfortunately i cant afford that yet, so i have to drive knowing the cornering and other limitations that i now have.

so i just thought you might want to know, hence this post.
cheers

take of the winch for now...............there is nothing worse than not being about to take 90 degree turns in your 100................

unfortunately where i go offroad i really need a winch. Sometimes. And not just for me...my mates dont have winches so i am the backup.
I've only used it once and it works...which is good...but you need to test it every few/couple of months otherwise there's no point having it.

Even if all you do is pull out the cable , attach a tree protector and winch yourself up a few metres to make sure the damn thing works.

It's like a lifejacket in a boat....are you going to wait until you capsize or sink before you test it?? Hopefully not.

Besides the Combination bar and winch, you also have a second battery!

Btw, Moooooooo, your PM mailbox is full and can't take anymore incoming messages.

i deleted a few PMs now 93% and will cleanup more now...fek 4:40am.
yes ithe second battery adds weight...although i havent really used it hey - i'm saving up for a fridge, although as i mentioned here my suspension is shot.
so the list....man the list. Everyone must have a list!!!

It would be cool to see everyones lists and see where you're at with it.

bed time for bozo!!
cheers

without the winch, the AHC should handle the added weight fine correct? I should get a silver star too now that you guys mention it.

aaah yes...but mine is an LC100 2005...no AHC

it does have AOFC though....that's the "automatic oh f#@k control".

or loss of control!!

and i now have a nice dent/dint in my left hand sill panel courtesy of the factory side steps being so weak and hitting either a stump or rock and that i cant afford to get real sliders yet :-)

and my pinstripes - well check this sign on my webiste

not at first. But now i've done 50,000km i'm really noticing it pitch and roll a lot more. Lots of offroading has probably softened it up too.
cheers
