I am day dreaming about mods that want to my cruiser and have a few questions. I am getting a 2004.
1. How can I connect in a ipod/xm radio jack? My suspicion is i can split the audio out from the cd changer and use that. Is there a better way?
2. How do you decide how steep of a hill you can climb? IE my family has a farm. It is across the river from Jefferson national farm. In any case there is a hill on the farm that over looks the New River and gives a wonderful view. Now I can walk up the hill although not as easily as i could when I was a kid. We have a bulldozer that goes up it no problem. We have ford and Chevy 4x4s that will do it with some effort. I have even gotten a 2 wheel drive golf cart up it. I don't think i can drive straight up it, I think the bushes are to thick. My uncle made a bulldozer cut that sorta goes up it side ways. I think I have a pict of it if that would help. The farm is the real main reason i want a cruiser.
3. I heard the saying as slow as possible as fast as necessary. My question is how much bouncing around at reasonable speeds can a cruiser take and you have no fears of losing it as a daily driver? I have been watching the youtube videos and it seems people are pretty hard on them
4. It seems all the youtube video's on how to 4wheel use land rovers. Where are the ones on cruisers?
5. Is there space under the hood for a second battery?
6. Can i get a winch on the front of it and keep the stock bumper?
7. Is there some space out of sight that i can hide a power inverter

Search then ask

All great questions, most of which have detailed answers in the forum. It has been said a thousand times "Search is your friend".
Questions 1,5 and 7 are all here.

The reason is, when you search and read through the answers most of your questions get answered, you get educated on the many variables, stumble across questions you didn't think to ask.

Then afterwards you can post follow up questions either in that thread or start a new one.

I personally read this tech forum daily as I find this all fascinating.

Cheers, and post up when you get yours.

I'll help out on the iPod situation since I just ordered the USA spec pa20-toy at a discount from amazon this week so there's a pretty good deal right now if you want one. It seems like it's either that or the VAIS, but I didn't want to spend that much money.
