I am in the process of going through replacing my leather seat covers with Ultrasuede (sister fabric to Alcantara). I will be doing this in my 2001 LX470. I also have access to a 2007 LandCruiser. The upholstery guy needs to disassemble the current leather seats to create the patterns for the fabric. If I go through the process of doing it in both rigs, I will potentially have patterns for both early LX470's and late model LandCruisers. I have not yet done the research to see what years would be covered with these patterns.

I was wondering what sort of interest there would be in replacing leather with fabric among the 100 series owners.

I love the look of the leather and the close to new leather in my second row is supple and soft. However, my fronts are getting cracked and hard and the leather is just way to uncomfortable in cold weather or in hot weather. I want a more durable (no cracking), less maintenance (not every few months like with leather), and more comfortable seat surface that will be better in both hot (think tropics) and cold (Alaska, northern Canada) climates.

Hence the decision to go fabric. I am looking at other fabrics in conjunction with the Ultrasuede, so we'll see what develops. Let me know what you guys think...

No interest in fabric, but my leather is still in awesome shape. That said, if you and your upholstery guy are feeling entrepreneurial, then I suspect you could move quite a few sets of replacement leather seat kits on this site (or fabric for some).
