I went ahead and gutted the 40s fuel system and found out the cause of my problems sort of. My rear tank has got lots of brown orange particles. Im assuming for now that it is only the reserve tank with the problem since i started having fuel issues only afteri switched over to use it.
I plan to pull both the one under the pasenger and the reserve tanks once I figure out how to store the 30 gallons (both tanks are full) of gas in them.
Does anyone know where to take my tanks to get treated?
I have read that radiator shops will wash them out with muratic acid and then line them somehow. I Think its worth paying a shop to do this so I dont have to worry about the waist of this process.
I am going to look around localy but if someone has done this sure could use some recomendations.
I suppose an option would be to get a new reserve tank but I would like to try to save the one I have. Like I said I havent pulled them off the truck so maybe they are not bad but I will have to see.
