gas into the FJ

Does anyone else have trouble with pumping gas into the FJ. I was used to inserting the nozzle and using the automatic on and walking away. It seems like I can not walk away with the FJ or else the pump turns off. Is is just me or anyone else having this problem?

You can not lock it in the full on, you have to back it of one or two clicks.

Ya, it is the design of the system, it does not work well with the sensors on the new pumps. You just gotta get used to it, I cant even click it on some pumps. For a while, I couldnt even put gas into my second tank, so I had to actually weld an air tube going from the outside by the cap into the hosing on the second tank. Its slow, but at least it fills up now.

I have had the same problem. Really sucks when it is zero derees out with 30 mph winds.

This has never happened to me.
But I have only been using the local Safeway store by me.

I set it on full click and then walk around and wash the windows.
It stops then I add back in about 50 cents or more to top it off.

My blue one was horrible. I could barely get any gas into it. My black one is no problem. Kinda weird that there was such a difference.

I have a VooDoo and also have this problem. I find that after the nozzle clicks off, I can get another 1 1/2 US gallons into the tank. This makes quite a difference if I am on the highway or watching my fuel economy.

Yep same thing happens here.. not too much you can do about it without changing the gas tank's shape... and on the note of the extra space.. One time filled it up to about 20 gals and I had gas left in the tank.. so to satisfy my curiosity I packed up a little gas container.. and drove untill the tank ran out.. poured in a little drove to the gast station let it idle till it stopped and I filled it up untill I could see the gas... 21.8 US gals

That's good to know, my fill-ups are usually around 15 1/2 gal.
