Loads of swap threads out there but most are going with manual swap. I'm staying automatic, Trying to reuse the gas transmission module. I can see from the FSM that the transmission "VA" circuit from the engine module to transmission is the same as the "VTA" circuit from the throttle position sensor to the engine module so we're good there after I install a 5v converter for the TPS.
However the 1fz has a 4 wire throttle position sensor, 1hdt has a 3 wire sensor with no IDL circuit. IDL also tees off to the cruise system but it's been said that it is not needed for the cruise to work right. Auto trans module does have an input for IDL could I get by without it? I can't be that important if the factory diesel auto transmission modules didnt need this input right? Is there a 4 wire diesel TPS? I could make a separate switch just for IDL and but it would be cleaner not to. The gas 4 wire position sensors look like they would fit the injection pump but there is not enough space for the connector to plug into it.
